HI Going from memory (never a good idea…):
1) There is a manual adjust on the MXO to line the EFC up so it's in range to lock. 2) The holdover / lock module is pretty simple, just a PLL running into a DAC. Holdover = freeze the DAC. 3) They aren't the most reliable thing Efratom ever made….
