Link setup stuff goes in /etc/devfs.conf
I have:
link cuau3 palisade1
line cuau3 pps1

Network setup stuff goes in /etc/rc.conf
I have:
hostname="xxx"
defaultrouter="xxx"
ifconfig_bge0="xxx"

ntpd_enable="YES"
ntpd_sync_on_start="YES"
ntpd_program="xxx"
