Hi Magnus,
Thanks reply.
I'm really impressed with the technical knowledge and skills of the guys
on this reflector.
I won't pretend that I could ever fix one. Even with 50 years of
working on stuff from tubes to SMT stuff, I'll admit its beyond me.
Now the physics of how it works, that's what I can understand.
Looking for a working unit.
When we stick to topic, or at least do quality off-topic it is indeed
interesting and indeed quite some knowledge available.
As for fixing rubidiums, it takes a bit of time learning the most basic
tricks, but it is not too hard logic to learn to get a decent result.
There are those out there that goes deep into their HP5065As.
The trouble is when you don't have enough information on your rubidium,
then it can be a bit daunting. The traditional analog rubidiums are
quite similar, so once some experience is there, it's not too hard to
handle the next.
Starting with a working one is probably a good idea.
I have 23 LPROs, all which have had "issues" so they need fixing. During
a test-run a handful of them did not lock up. I would be interested in
working on them so that they work. There are several uses for them.
Cheers,
Magnus
