For those of you who didn't know and were too busy to look it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudden_Ionospheric_Disturbance (Minor time sink warning.) We should be able to write some software that would beep (or blink a LED) when the signal strength or delay jumped far enough. You could send a bit of info using morse code. Even a crude number-of-blinks works pretty well. -- These are my opinions.
