Thanks, Corby! Followed your advice, and made a 15x2mm screwdriver by grinding down a carbon steel scraper. A combination of 10min heating on the physical package, plus the tool and got the rubidium bulb out. I've had these oscillators running since 8:00 in the morning, doing a simple XY signal tracing comparing both. The older unit loses lock semi-periodically, and then relocks after a random time from 4 to 10 minutes. The newer unit hasn't lost lock, but there may be an issue with the sma connector.
