They can be useful as a comparator between two references as long as you have a LORAN C simulator to drive the system. I built up a unit 3 years ago may still be in the time-nuts archives. It was fairly simple to accomplish. I took the reference and drove the simulator. Then the simulator feeds the FR700 or austrons 2100s,2100F, and 2000. All worked. Kind of a crazy thing to do but hated to see the systems die. Regards Paul WB8TSL
