In the old days, HP/Agilent made microwave frequency counters. One of the main competitors was EIP, which was located a few miles away. A key R&D manager defected to EIP and eventually Agilent stopped making microwave counters and instead resold EIP counters. I'm not surprised to hear the same thing is going on with SRS, also a few miles away.
