Hi Simple answer on all of this stuff:
Once you hit rollover, you either ignore it or start replacing hardware. The companies that make this stuff stopped supporting firmware upgrades for the gear we now have a long time ago. That is one of the reasons we now can buy it cheap Even when upgrades *were* available, there often were support licensing issues that made them crazy expensive to do. Yes, they could just give everything away. That’s not going to happen.
