> Is there a way to see the 'best performers' of servers in the pool Every so often, I look at the machines using my server and do a 'ntpq -c peers' on each of them to see what their other servers are and how mine ranks (truechimer vs non-truechimer) against the others.
Only about 1 in 20 machiens responds to 'ntpq -c peers' so maybe the results are not statistically significant (biased). And of those 1 in 20, maybe half are only using me as a server so there's no comparison to be done. > better ones hold a preference in DNS Am I correct that current DNS implementations don't rank the order of preference of hosts for NTP? At least not like MX records, where there is a preference rank. I haven't followed DNS development for a while.
