Mine also came with the 5M cable without asking. Just plan to chop off the existing connector and add what you like. I use a DB-9. You can make up a short DB-9 to SB-9 cable to supply power and then use normal DB-9 extension cords as needed. -- The suespammers.org mail server is located in California.
