gpsd auto-detects the active edge. In fact it autodetects almost
everything.
you could try it to see how it works.
HOWTO:
fetch the sources, untar and ./configure --enable-pps
compile (make)
optionally install (make install)
put two entries in ntp.conf:
server 127.127.28.0 minpoll 4
server 127.127.28.1 minpoll 4 prefer
restart ntpd.
run the gpsd daemon: gpsd -n /dev/ttyS0 (or whatever port you have used)
that should do it.
you can then also run the included apps like xgps to view the gps status.
