Interesting coincidence, the same thing hapenned to me this morning. The problem was caused by my Cisco firewall's DDoS couter-measures. When there's more than a certain number of new connection in the last minute the counter-measures start and you get strange behavior for your Internet users (especialy with DNS it seems).
