MS using pool.ntp.org as their standard time service for Windows copies would mean that something like 90% of pool.ntp.org users would suddenly be Windows users, most would never even know that this service exists and that the problem we're trying to solve even exists. MS contributing on a scale to compensate for this would totally transform the pool.ntp.org project: we'd need to be able to handle the load, we'd need to be able to administrate the servers etc. etc. All the current users would be marginalized -- and given that the users of the "exotic" (speaking in market share terms) systems are now the people who drive the project I'd deeply regret this. cheers -- vbi -- OpenPGP encrypted mail welcome - my key: http://fortytwo.ch/gpg/92082481
