I'm not aware of any. People often contact me when they think of doing surveys, so I've heard of several efforts in the past few years. The Mura/Torres survey is the only one that published something that I can remember. As others have commented, it's getting increasingly hard to do the kind of survey I did. Fewer servers are answering monitoring queries, either by default configuration and by firewall. And requests are setting off intrusion alarms; my ISP almost shut me down over a complaint a couple of months ago. It's still doable, but I have less confidence in the notion of a complete list of peers. NAT makes it sort of meaningless to count by IP address anyway. If anyone's interested in client statistics, I've been recording 1% of all requests made to my North American pool server for several months now. I also log the IP address of every single request. Glad to give the files to anyone doing a study. _______________________________________________ timekeepers mailing list [email protected] https://fortytwo.ch/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/timekeepers
