Actually, I think the comment you're responding to is right. Someone who is too new to NTP _shouldn't_ be trying to participate in the pool. A certain degree of expertise in NTP is, effectively, a prerequisite for providing time to arm's-length others, and I think that's exactly as it should be. This is not to say that we (FWVO "we') shouldn't help people having trouble with NTP. Just that pool membership (rightly) has a higher bar than running an NTP host at all. I do find it..interesting..that your comments were top-posted, exhibiting an ignorance of (or, worse, a knowledge of but an unwillingness to follow) basic email quoting etiquette.
