I'm moving in a month and I was wondering what the protocol was for changing IP addresses (in addition to the advice of delete the current server and add the new one). I'm also wanting to move the access to ntp from direct public to behind my router so I can QoS NTP traffic.

I don't want to leave peers hanging in the wind when I move, so I was wondering when I should schedule the deletion.

The current implementation in the system makes the IP stop appearing in DNS 2 weeks before the 'deletion date'. Really though, then until ntp servers that handle changing IPs better are common the IP should just stop being used as soon as it's known the ntp server on that IP will go away. (Well, maybe say within 3-6 months; but nobody ever know that far in advance anyway).
