Hi Nick,
You said "Good Morning from Ireland. I am hoping to build an all electronic
barrel organ. Just pipes for decoration. Able to play MIDI files with a small
pc."
You will find Wurlitzer Band Organ Midi files - scanned from Wurlitzer music
Rolls - out there on the net which might suit your purpose.
Here is a link to hundreds of them.....

I play midi files using Timidity on a PC, I output the sound via a sound card
with SP/DIF(optical) output to a Kenwood Stereo Amplifier with SP/DIF
(Optical) input, which then play the music through stereo speakers.
If you might be satisfied with sound of a lesser quality(or don't have the
space inside your Barrel Organ for a Stereo Amp and Speakers, then buy one of
the sets of 2 small computer speakers with a Woofer box ( possibly Altec
Lansing ?) and plug them into your headphones output on the PC. These sets
seem to be available in thrift stores/junk shops cheaply these days. I would
definitely get the woofer box with speakers rather than just two speakers.
You can experiment with different soundfonts to get the best match.
hope this helps
Graham
