I forward to the developper for bugfix. I think we should change the
code in the GTK client to load the photo of the selected record only.
(like what we do with one2many fields). I will see what we can do.
Currently it loads the full list of selected records.

Yes, I've been thinking about things like this. But, the photo has to be on
the form in the widget. If we do it other ways then it becomes too many clicks
and gets too confusing for the user. The issue is that Tiny is loading all
data for all photo records for this partner all at one time. I'm now trying
to think of a way when using this fields.binary to maybe do some type of
thumbnail mini-view and have the full image come in by clicking it since not
every time when dealing with these records do you need to see the full image
you may be working on other data in the record.
A couple other things that I notice:
If I don't add a photo to a record then the Save button works with one click. If I add a photo then we need two clicks to get the partner record saved.
When we use the workflow buttons in the widget it is causing a full reload of the entire partner record. I'm only dealing with records within this widget so why does it need to reload all data for all tabs and all widgets? This is another big performance problem for us.
