We are having some problem trying to do things with the UI Views in v5.0.
========================
Scenario:
We have different types of Partners:
Customer
Supplier
Dealer
Distributor
A Partner can be any one of the different types or theoretically can be ALL
of the different types.
We want to create different Partner Forms for each of the different Partner
types so that we can focus on just those fields that deal with the Partner in
that particular role. So for example, if we have a Partner that is both a
Supplier and a Dealer we want to be able to take the default Partner Form,
inherit from it creating a new Supplier Form, inherit from it again creating a
new Dealer Form. On these forms we add the fields that apply to the Partner in
just that particular role (Supplier or Dealer).
Now that we have distinct forms for each Partner type we need to have some
way in which to set when these different views should be used. So for example,
in a listing of Dealers, a list of Dealer Partner objects is displayed and
clicking on one of these should bring up the Partner record in the Dealer form.
Similarly, in a listing of Suppliers, a list of Supplier Partner objects
should be displayed and clicking on one of these should bring up the Partner
record in the Supplier form. And going back to a listing of all Partners,
clicking on a Partner that has multiple view types associated with it should
present a selection window for us to select which type of Partner form to use
to view the Partner.
========================
None of above can we do in v5.0. Instead, what we get is that anytime we
inherit a view and add some fields to the new view, the added fields also show
up in the parent view which is totally confusing and not useful.
We've been posting about problems with different Partner views for a while.

Does anyone know of a way in which we can accomplish the above scenario using
Views in v5.0?
Regards,
Gerry
