All right guys,

I'm glad to see some interest showing up.

By the way, I'll blog on the first results this week end. And I'm optimistic
about getting the full (or nearly the full) OpenERP server running on Java.

Indeed, reportlab is pure Java so I was wrong, reports will run on Jython
(except may be pychart and other stuff, but easy workaround might be found).
Reportab currently won't load on Jython because of what seems to be a Jython
parser bug that's showing up with the pdfbase/_fonddata.py class which might
have too large data structures. I'll report- that to the Jython folks so they
fix it.

And concerning mx.Datetime, the great news is that is suck, it has a bug with
dates before 1970. Tryton alost managed to removed it and Fabien Pinckears said
they will run away from that crap after v5 if we find alternative (so the good
news is that there are some).

So overall I think we could run a full blown quasi unmodified OpenERP server
pretty soon on Java.

A next step in that journey might be to write a small servlet connector to put
it inside a standard J2EE server (only for people willing to do it), like
Glassfish or Tomcat.

Regards,

Raphaël Valyi.
