Patches for 'bdist_deb' are on their own timeline in another realm. The
patches that I submitted should be applied immediately and not be held waiting
for anything. When 'bdist_deb' get into Distutils then we can extend my
patches to include working with 'bdist_deb'. FYI, this morning the Distutils
leader put out a call for volunteers to sign up for working on 'bdist_deb'
effort. But he warned there was a huge amount on their plates already with
PyCon coming up. So I expect this will be more like a few months and not days
or weeks before 'bdist_deb' is ready.
In the meantime my installation patches should be applied because their are
files and scripts that even debian-based distros can take advantage of even if
it isn't in an .deb automated install.

Regards,
Gerry
