Happy to hear you are doing that, I agree to say that this is the best (safer) you can do considering how branches diverged so far. I also would like faster merge cycles in the future, and as I said in an other thread, possibly quicker release cycles (with smaller gap then) so that peoples actually use those new branches in prod before waiting one year with nobody testing it for real (your integration server is great, but it would be childish considering it's enough to avoid regressions given the current spars test suite).
