hi, best security rule is to prevent unauthorized people to get access to the server, for example by securing the network. In case you have to expose part of it to internet, then, separating web interface and openerp-server on different machines makes it more difficult for the hacker indeed but risk still exists. You'll probably need more than separating unix users. regards
