Which in essence means that you do not sell the rights (as in EULA), but the copy of software.
Remember, that MS does not sell the software copy (you can buy CD kit separately, at ~20$ price), but the rights what you can do, and what is not allowed. OK there is need to separate meanings of selling the EULA like in proprietary software, and selling software package licensed under GPL, where code could be downloaded freely anyway. > If I distribute GPL'd software for a fee, am I required to also make it > available to the public without a charge? > > No. However, if someone pays your fee and gets a copy, the GPL gives them the > freedom to release it to the public, with or without a fee. I think this one describes the difference :). > Does the GPL allow me to distribute copies under a nondisclosure agreement? > > No. The GPL says that anyone who receives a copy from you has the right to > redistribute copies, modified or not. So practically even if you charge some money for releasing the copy, customer has the right to distribute it freely. So the price has to be accordingly to cover all the expenses from the very first deal. :) Buying an EULA rights you pay for limited rights to use and price is reduced as you are not allowed to redistribute the software freely. So the dealer will sell unlimited number of copies.
