I have difficulty deciding which version to pick. There's the 5.0 branch and
the trunk. I know how version control works so I am aware that current
development happens on the trunk.

I think the wording at the download page is adding to the confusion.

What I think I understand is as follows:

"expired and no bug" : Does this mean new features are not being added and that
there are no known bugs ?

What's a major release per year? Are 5.0.x , 5.1.x, 5.2.x major releases? If
so, those should come from trunk shouldn't they?

There are trunk releases every month? Where are these? What would the version
number of these be?

By the way. The translations on launchpad are for trunk (right?). Why is there
no translation effort for the stable release?

Also the official blog, forums etc are full of things that are available in
some release but they are usually not in what I use (5.0.6). What is the
documentation based on?

I have other questions but not specifically related to this.

Please do not get me wrong. This is a package that I think will solve my
problem and I am willing to help out (already helping out with translation)
with documentation and helping people on irc and forums. However the barrier to
entry is there and I'd like some help for myself and for other newcomers.

Thanks.

Oktay
