Arr.. this is a bit of a silly question.

You see it's like shoes, you could hold up a $1000 pair of spam basketball
shoes and say "these are the best shoes ever" yet you can't even go bowling in
them!?

With POS you have to know if you're doing retail, weighted goods, scanning of
barcodes, clothes, rentals, consignments, food (Pizza is really tricky) with
tables, etc.. etc..

My BF wanted to sell some pictures he takes at sports events. The best time to
sell is while everyone is excited, right at the event. I was ready to help him
with a really fancy [url=http://www.geminicomputersinc.com/
]point of sale[/url] package I was used to but he was smart enough to stop me!
Not only would that have been some un-needed expense, but it would have also
over-complicated what he needed.

In the end we went with your 3rd choice, an access driven database, just to get
tax records, and he uses his iPhone for all the payment transactions that
aren't cash. He has a lock box for the cash, and it's completely solved all his
needs. Plus it's very portable as he can use his netbook for the access db.

Hope this helps!
