@nhomar just a precision about the report engines:
RML fulfills more or less the same as HTML5/CC3 reports can do with the work of CampToCamp with their webkit engine. Both aim to be fast at producing large documents. BUT: IMHO: HTML is way much more standard, less clumsy and benefit from a better implementation (webkit is the base of the Chrome, Safari and Opera browsers). So I think the perspective is to drop RML at the favor of HTML, even if in v6, HTML and RML will probably cohabit. Still, I think OpenOffice reports have their advantages: especially for orders and invoices that every company want to customize. Here speed matter much less, what matters most is the easiness of customization. I think the most productive engine here is the report_openoffice by Domsense and Kndati. So IMHO for max productivity and performance those two engines should be better integrated with the standard OpenERP. @About the sprint initiative: well guys, for us it's nothing new: we have been animating the expert lists to discuss/develop important features for months, we had some 4/5 branches merged in v6 already. So being remote in Brazil and busy on projects at our own pace, we will just continue to do that. But, of course, we like more people jumping in and if their is some rush effect with a sprint, it will be cool. Now the really good news is OpenERP S.A. dedicating resource on this, this is very welcome. ------------------------ Raphaël Valyi CEO and OpenERP consultant at http://www.akretion.com -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=61270#61270 -------------------- m2f --------------------
