Another way of accomplishing this is to use the XMesh apps. They have the ability to act upon so-called XCommands. You'll have to implement your own commands, though. There are only some fundamental commands available, such as setting the leds, start/stop measure, change measure interval etc. The PC side command app resides in contrib/xbow/beta/tools/src/xcmd. Please note that it's still beta as the path indicates.

We would like to be able to also send commands to the motes to give them specific parameters or prompt them to run a given function. We had heard about Crossbow s Mote-View program and are wondering if anyone was able to successfully use this program to send commands to the motes.
