I suspect this might be a software issue with the app you are using. We have run the MICA family Motes for over 2 years using XMesh-LP app without ever encountering such hang. You can try it from the MoteView or MoteWorks installer from Crossbow. http://www.xbow.com/Support/wSoftwareDownloads.aspx
