Right,

I guess I needed to describe what I am looking for a little bit clearer. I
know how to change the Group ID on compile time (ie
DEFAULT_LOCAL_GROUP=0x22) and how to change it when the mote is running as I
said before.

What I am looking for is to change the Group ID when the mote is powered and
booted and have it keep that ID after it goes through a hard reset
(batteries replaced).

GroupID is set in /opt/tinyos-1.x/tools/make/Makedefaults or
/opt/tinyos-2.x/support/make/Makedefaults.
