Either should be fine: I've used MICAz motes with both alkaline and NiMH
cells. They appeared to work okay down to 2.3V (below in some cases!).

Subject: [Tinyos-help] One question about AA batteries for Mica mote

Hi,

I am wondering what kind of AA batteries can be used for motes.

Non-rechargeable AA batteries seem not a good choice. Because if the voltage
is not enough, you have to throw them away.

But for rechargeable AA batteries, it seems to me all the batteries have
1.2V. Is there any rechargeable AA battery for motes?

Thanks,

Chris
