Also, under these conditions I receive lots of duplicate messages, can
you also give me a reason for that? Retransmissions due to
communication problems? With one root and one node sending data I
receive 100% of the packets although getting lots of duplicates.
Also if I have two motes sending messages to a sink (CTP) with a
message with the indicated characteristics (106B and
DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH=114) installed at the same distance from the sink
and from each other, I receive much more packets from one of the
nodes. The number of received packets from one node is twice the
number of the other nodes. I also detect forwarding packets occurring
on both nodes. Maybe one of the nodes ends up only forwarding messages
due to packet flooding from the other instead of sending its own
messages. I also get lots of duplicate messages.
Can someone explain the behavior?

Joao

Hi,
Thanks for the link.
After some tests I could determine the following:
- The maximum message size I could have was 106Bytes (my message
structure has 5 nx_uint16_t fields and one array of 48 nx_uint16_t).
- The message is only sent if DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH is set to a value
between 114 and 242.
- If 243 <= DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH <= 347 send signals success, but
senddone never occurs
- if 347 < DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH both send and senddone fail.
Can someone please explain me these results I'm experiencing?

Joao

I believe 28 bytes is the default size (TEP111) which can be
increased by defining DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH at compile time . What I
would like to know is what is the maximum value you can assign to
DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH is set to .
I've tested with 300 and send will still return with SUCCESS while
500 won't.

Not sure about TinyOS 2.1. I'm using TinyOS 2.0.2 and the maximum
payload is 29 bytes.

Can you tell me what is the maximum value for tinyos 2.1?

Hi,
Is there a maximum DTOSH_DATA_LENGTH value for the iris mote?
Best regards,
Joao
