Thanks a lot Janos!

Indeed, I will need the MIB520 device to program motes, it isn't a problem, but in the project the manager wants to know if we have other options in order to gather the information from the wireless sensor network. I'll add the option you suggested to my report, thanks again,

Best Regards,

Javier.

Javier,

To communicate with the mote (mica2, micaz, iris), a wire-ended USB to
TTL cable should suffice (FTDI TTL-232R-3V3-WE). You will need to add
a femail 51-pin connector at the end.

However, this approach or the ones that you are suggesting will _not_
allow programming the mote. You will need the mib520 for that (or any
other AVR programmer with a proper connector to the mote).

Hi everybody,

We are working on a project and we need to study different options for a
base station, so we can avoid MIB520. Some of our alternatives are:

* Use x-tick provided by Libelium and connect this device to a PDA o
mobile phone.

* Direct communication to the sensors throughout Integration
Zigbee/802.15.4 developers kit. That is a USB device with zigbee protocol.

We would appreciate if you knew any other technology that could be applied,

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Javier.
