Possibly other chips, different included modules. Or possibly different compilation flags. Look to see what level of optimization is being selected.
Or just send me the output of "make telosb verbose" and "make epic verbose" then I'll send you the parts to look at. verbose will also tell you explicitly what modules are being included.
