We currently teach separate Psyc stats and Research methods with the
former as a prereq for the latter. Students must complete this sequence
prior to enrolling in any of the content area courses (e.g., Learning,
Abnormal, etc.). But, our "Methods" committee is considering the
possibility of proposing a shift to a two-semester integrated
methods/stats course and had some questions for those of you who have
experience with an integrated two-semester course. What's covered in
each semester? Is there a set order or can students take them in either
order? Do the same faculty teach both semesters of the course and if so,
do students have to take both parts with the same faculty member? What
are the advantages and disadvantages in comparison to the type of
structure we now have? Also, do you have any book recommendations?
