It certainly makes sense to have highly visible machines pay out more often although perhaps only at smaller amounts. And I'm puzzled by her reference to > "kicking back for free sodas and a boat ride". Some of the boats cruise up and down the river (although fewer do now than previously). It was part of the law that said the boats had to be in the water and actually work like a boat. So my favorite boat would go up along the bluffs of the Mississippi for about 45 minutes and then cruise back. Additionally, all of the sodas were FREE. Thus, you would board the boat with no admission cost, grab a soda, and then go sit on the deck for a free short cruise. My favorite - the Alton Belle - is now permanently docked but the sodas and deck are still free.
