Hi This is somewhat related to TIPs, so I hope people don't mind the question. I remember years ago reading that scientists come disproportionately from small undergrad institutions. Does anyone know a source or, even better, more recent evidence on this issue? In essence, an organization I belong to wants to argue for the central role of universities in the research enterprise, including undergraduate institutions (like my own).
