I have noticed the increase also. Here is what I have tried to 
do in the past. First, I used the official "remove" sequence in 
the message.  About half the time the remove address was not a 
working email adddress.

Next, I would reply and copy the message to several system 
addresses, like postmaster@..., root@..., sysadmin@...,  with 
the request to remove the spammer. The postmaster address should 
work but now I routinely get the message that the postmaster 
mailbox is full.

Now,I am tired of being nice and polite about this issue and am 
looking for some way to make the point more forcefully.
