Hello Tips People,

Well, just finished my first class this morning (Intro Psych) - almost all
300 showed up! Second section I teach begins in an hour. Anyone else out
there back at it this early in the year?! We are starting the section on
Intelligence and Psychological Measurement, but given how rusty I feel
after our break (our last class was on December 04 - in class term test,
no final) and the general attitude of the students, I decided to keep this
first class relatively short. I opened with some general discussion about
Intelligence, IQ testing, the history, theories of intelligence - talked
only for about 15 minutes, although it would have lasted longer if I
received some feedback from students to questions I was throwing their
way. Then I showed a short film - Zimbardo's Discovering Psychology
series on Testing and Intelligence. This seemed a good way to ease back
into the new year especially after coming back so soon after the New Year
began.

I'm just wondering how many others out there do something similar
or how many of you start the first class with full force with a full
lecture and all!

Happy New Year to all!
