I'm sure there is a literature out there on the social psychology of
home-team favoritism. This is a topic that has interested me casually for
many years, although I haven't pursued it academically/empirically. Is
anyone out there interested in collaborative research in this area?

If you are interested in sport fan behavior, I'd suggest checking out the
work of Dan Wann from Murray State University. He has done a lot of work in
the area. Right now, he and I are completing a study examining both home and
visitor fans' perception of home and visitor fans.

The hypotheses are based on both in-group favoritism as well as
identification with the team.

Looks like it will work out, but we need one home team to lose this year
(and APSU already won their home game....)
