I would like to add my, "Me Too!" to Tim and John's posts. Rather than torture students with the percentile formula, I use Tukey hinges for quartiles.
I also have difficulty with the (High - Low) + 1 formula for the range that is presented in some texts. It assumes that the units of measure are integers and that the most extreme obtained values came from the even more extreme real limits of those values.
