I have set up several (9-10) self scoring instruments using forms on the internet and then writing a .cgi script in perl to score them. They output a score to the screen and log the responses to a file. Sometimes I divide the class for discussion based on the logfile (e.g., create groups based personality traits). I have done this with various forms of instruments. It did take some time to become familiar with perl. I'm certain that an intermediate or advanced student in computer science could set them up in 1-2 hours.
Although some of the instruments I used are copyrighted the scripts that score them are not. If someone is developing their own scripts and wants to look at mine let me know and I'll send them or make them available on the web.
