The description I posted from my syllabus (see below) indicates that
students re required to complete remediation during my office hours or by
special appointment. I do not let students take the tests home. Of course,
student groups have devised more elaborate ways of getting the items for
those files (like requiring every member of the group who is in a class to
memorize one item on the test that is not already in the file for that
