The Psychology Department of Fairfield University invites applications for 
a 
one-year replacement for a retiring member of the department, beginning 
in 
September 2002.  The Psychology Department plans to conduct a 
national search 
for a tenure track position during the 2002-2003 academic year.  The 
individual in the replacement position will be considered for the full-time, 
tenure-track position.

Applicants? area of expertise should encompass various aspects of 
Biological 
Psychology.  Courses to be covered include some combination of:  
Introduction 
to Psychology, Drugs and Behavior, Psychobiology Laboratory, Biological 
Bases 
of Behavior, and possibly the candidate?s special interests.  Ph.D.'s are 
preferred, but ABDs will be considered.  The individual will be responsible 
for teaching three courses/semester, one of which will have a lab.    The 
department consists of eight full-time faculty representing a range of 
specialties and is housed in a spacious, well-equipped facility in the new 
wing of the Bannow Science Center that will be occupied starting in the 
summer.  Fairfield University is a highly selective, moderate sized (3200 
undergraduates), comprehensive university located in southwestern 
Connecticut, 
about 75 minutes from New York City.  Review of completed applications 
will 
begin April 15th and will continue until the position has been filled.
