I wasn't going to respond to this since so many were so in favor of attending commencements as I dislike them immensly as I do most other ceremonies (never even had a wedding ceremony, we went to the "marrying judge").  However, when Harry started talking about commencement speakers it got me remembering my undersraduat graduation.  Nixon was president.  We were supposed to have him as I speker but he could not make it at the last minute.  So were were honored to have as our speaker, Spiro Agnew!  Perhaps that is why I have such  bad feelings about graduations.

(By the way Harry, did you do your graduate work at Rutgers?  I seem to recall hearing your name when I was a student there, many years ago.)
