Well, I understand that the amygdala screens incoming sensory information and "decides" whether a person should or should not withdraw from a situation. But, it seems you are asking if that structure is involved in the decision as to whether a person would accept help in an emergency situation? If so, I have no idea, but I doubt it, and suspect that would depend on a host of factors, dispositional and situational.
