Hello,

I am not sure that this is the same kind of spurious attribution that the Socrates
quote is. The Carmina Burana, a compilation of authentic songs sung by students at
Universities in the 13th century (dating from that time, not written down later)
contains such elevated sentiments as "I have made up my mind to die in a tavern" and
the like.

I am sure there are some differences between students in previous centuries and
students today (like, for example, you didn't learn long division until you reached
university. But, I think some aspects of student life remain unchanged. Students have
always loved to party.
