Take a look at the symbol list. There are a number of repeated symbols (though they change from trial to trial). My guess is that only some numbers can ever come up as a result of this type of operation - and those numbers always have the correct symbol (all of them).
Try looking at 18, trial after trial - the symbol at 18 will always come up when you click the globe.
