I guess the
emerging business model is this:
We do a few gratuitous reviews and adopt the books, accepting the
bribe offered by the publisher.
Then we use that money to pay the new scholarly-appearing vanity
press to publish the articles we need to keep our jobs.

However, I am uncomfortable with the idea of accelerating publication of an article based on an author's ability to pay a fee. Does anyone else share this feeling?
