My father was a southern Baptist Minister. My struggle with religious dogma was long and hard. Phillips book YOUR GOD IS TOO SMALL was the one book that helped me through the maelstrom along with Buber's book "I - Thou". Van Funderburk

I hope I don't open up a can of worms here :-), but I was wondering if any of you could recommend a book (or two or three) for a student who is struggling with reconciling her traditional religious upbringing (in this case, Southern Baptist) with her newly evolving attitudes on topics such as feminism, tolerance of homosexuality, science, academia, etc. I think she would ideally like to find some kind of a middle ground here, some way to remain spiritual but also be true to her new attitudes.

Thanks in advance!
